Fields

Getting answers by email

  1. Your website needs somewhere to send the answers. A form service such as Formspree, Basin, or Getform does this, and most have a free plan. Check that its rules allow your kind of work before you sign up.
  2. Make a new form in that service and copy its form address. It starts with https://.
  3. Paste the address above, then copy the code and paste it where you want the form on your site (most site builders call this an “HTML” or “embed code” block).
  4. Send yourself a test answer to make sure it arrives.

The code includes a hidden spam trap: a box people can't see, so anything that fills it in is a bot. Formspree and Basin ignore those answers for you.

Only ask for what you need. Anything someone types here is stored by the form service and lands in your inbox.

Preview

This is how your form will look. Sending is switched off in the preview.
